When beginning to plan your event, there is a lot to consider. After you have selected your date and venue you need to decide whether you want to DIY (do-it-yourself), or how much you may want to DIY. Some people may have the time, are very crafty and have the desire to DIY everything and then there are others that may decide to work in a partnership with various vendors on the items that they can’t easily do themselves.
Why did we write this blog article? Because we have done it before, and have helped other parents with the same DIY questions you may have such as What are great colors? Do I need to have a theme? How do I make my theme come to life? What are good favor giveaways? How do I choose linens? What do I use for my centerpieces? How do I add lighting to the room? These questions and many more we here at Cutie Patootie Creations can help you with.
One of our recent Bar Mitzvahs located right here in Charlotte, NC centered around the University of Michigan. Mom, Leslie came to us initially and asked us to create invitations using the University of Michigan colors as well as create her son's basketball mitzvah logo. She then worked on and designed her own party favors, stadium cups as well as many other elements for her event such as linen colors, flowers, candy bar design, and candle lighting display. She then came back to us to bring some of the other elements to life for her sons big day such as place cards, table cards, napkins, and Michigan basketball centerpieces. It was a true partnership.
Every venue is different, and the venue Leslie chose was the Piper Glen Country Club. At Piper Glen, Leslie was able to choose her table linen colors as well as glasses and napkins all to match the theme. While this is not an option at every venue, it is something else to keep in mind while planning and a great question to ask your venue.
All in all, it was a wonderful partnership and a beautiful Bar Mitzvah. Split Second Sound rocked the house all night long. Extravaganza Props and Events added decor elements such as wooden basketball cutouts and miscellaneous signage. The room was illuminated with University of Michigan Colors, Blue and Maize Yellow.
